The answer to this question depends on the type of health coverage that you have. We need to start by figuring out if you have a Medicare Supplement Plan (Medigap) or a Medicare Advantage Plan.
If you have a Medicare Supplement Plan, dental and vision benefits are not generally covered by Medicare, except under limited circumstances. In this case, you can purchase private dental and vision plans. We work with several dental and vision providers.
If you have a Medicare Advantage Plan, you may already have some coverage, as many of the plans include some dental and vision benefits. Many Medicare Advantage plans offer coverage for things like:
- Routine Dental Care (Cleanings, X-Rays)
- Routing Vision Care {Preventive Exam, eyeglasses, contacts)

My grandpa has health issues, and since he’s turning 65 next year, I was thinking of enrolling him in Medicare to help with his medical bills. I appreciate you informing us how a Medicare Advantage Plan might have some coverage for dental and vision benefits like routine dental care and routine vision care. I’ll take note of this while I look for a certified Medicare advisor to help us out.
