LEADERSHIP TEAM
Prior to opening Ohio Health Benefits in 2004, Steve was employed as a captive agent for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield and has over 18 years of experience in sales and customer service. Steve became licensed for health insurance in 2003. He is a 1986 graduate of Kent State University with a degree in technology and business management. He and his wife, Cathie, live in Tallmadge with their four children Melissa, Amanda, Stephanie, and Steven.
Sarah joined the OHB team in April of 2018. She has over 20 years experience in cost accounting and risk management with a strong focus on customer service. Sarah focuses on account management for the group market, including customer service, new program implementation, and carrier relations She completed both, undergraduate and graduate studies at Kent State University. Sarah and her husband, Matt, live in Tallmadge, Ohio and have three boys; Ethan, Caleb, and Liam.
Deanna joined the OHB team in April 2019. She brings several years of experience in the industry having worked previously in revenue cycle and healthcare management. Deanna is a Licensed Benefit Consultant and works at our Tallmadge location. She resides in Stow with her husband Shaun and two children, Michael and Julianne.
LICENSED BENEFIT CONSULTANTS
Blake joined the Tallmadge team in February of 2019. He received his Accident & Health, and Life Insurance from the State of Ohio in 2019. Blake brings over 12 years of experience in sales and customer service with him from the Industrial and Logistics industries. He lives in Tallmadge with his wife, Samantha, and three daughters.
Brian came onboard the OHB team in the spring of 2022, from the hospitality management industry where he spent several years. Brian studied at Kent State University and served in the Ohio Army National Guard. He enjoys building dynamic relationship through serving others and having a blast doing it. Brian resides in Ellet with his wonderful wife Suzie and three amazing children. Soli Deo gloria!
Dave joined the OHB team in 2019. Prior to coming on-board, he spent over 14 years in the Franchising Industry as a Field Consultant and Small Business Owner. Dave is a Licensed Benefit Consultant and a lifelong resident of Northeast Ohio. He resides in Green with his wife Andrea and their two sons, Dominic and Anthony.
Erik joined the OHB team in the spring of 2022. He received his Health Insurance license from the State of Ohio in 2022. Prior to joining OHB Erik worked in sales and the customer service industry for 10 years. Erik resides in Cuyahoga Falls with his wife Maryssa and their two sons, Owen and Ezra.
Jan, a retired Lieutenant, Firefighter, Paramedic for the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department and former Tallmadge volunteer firefighter, joined our Tallmadge office in the fall of 2011. He has over 25 years of health and benefits administration experience from his work with the Cuyahoga Falls Firefighters Association. Jan received his Benefits Consultant License from the State of Ohio in 2008. He resides in Tallmadge with his wife, Christine, and is the father of three adult children: Daniel, Michael, and Kimberly.
Jeff joined the OHB team in June of 2014 after working on a part-time basis with the company since 2012. Prior to that, he had been in the banking industry for 37 years, with 27 of those years as a branch manager. He received his Accident, Life, Health, and Annuities license in 2009. Jeff and his wife Jackie live in Garrettsville, Ohio and have 3 grown daughters, Kaitlyn, Allyson and Erin and a son, Seth who is still at home.
Jim teamed up with OHB in 2021 after owning his own health insurance agency for 15 years. He previously was in the banking and accounting industries, most recently as a VP for National City Bank. Jim resides in North Ridgeville with his spouse Diane. He enjoys traveling and resides a portion of the year in Hilton Head, SC.
Joe joined the OHB team in the spring of 2022. He has over 15 years of sales and customer service experience. Most recently, spending the past several years as a licensed financial advisor, working with clients to develop their financial plans. He resides in Ravenna with his two young daughters, Lucy and Laura.
Lisa joined the OHB team in 2019 as a licensed health insurance agent. She is also a Licensed Social Worker with 35 years’ experience working in health care who utilizes her knowledge with Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security to assist clients in navigating the complexities of dual coverage and eligibility issues. She has a master’s degree in Public Administration and bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Akron. Lisa lives in Wadsworth with her husband, Randy Kugler and dog, Indy. They enjoy spending time with their 4 grown children/spouses and 7 grandchildren.
Randy joined the OHB team in September of 2013. He received his Accident & Health, and Life Insurance license from the State of Ohio in 2010. Randy has nearly 10 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Vince obtained his licenses for Health & Life Insurance in 2014 and joined the OHB team in 2015. Prior to making the move to health insurance, he enjoyed a 20-year career in banking and had a reputation for excellence in customer service. Vince is an honors graduate of Walsh University where he earned his degree in business. Vince resides in Munroe Falls and has two wonderful kids, A.J. and Marissa.
CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE TEAM
Sara joined OHB in June of 2020. She graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Nutritional Sciences. Sara obtained her Health Insurance License from the state of Ohio 2021. Prior to joining OHB Sara worked with children and families at a local preschool. In her free time Sara enjoys photography and watching her children discover their own passions. She and her husband, Curt reside in Tallmadge with their two children Ali and Sawyer and their dog Mayhem.
Suzie joined the OHB team in June 2021. She graduated from The University of Akron in 2012, with A Bachelor of Fine Arts. She recently obtained her Health Insurance License from the State of Ohio in 2021. Prior to joining OHB, Suzie worked in the customer service industry for 14 years. She resides in Tallmadge with her husband Brian and their two children Lucas and Isabel.
Brandon joined the OHB team in April of 2023. He obtained his Health Insurance License from the State of Ohio in 2023. Prior to OHB Brandon was in the construction industry and is currently in the Army Reserves as a heavy machine operator. Brandon resides in Niles, Ohio. He enjoys spending time with his family.
Chelsea joined the OHB team in September of 2022. She graduated from the University of Akron in 2007 with a Bachelor of Natural Sciences and from the University of Akron School of Law with her Juris Doctorate and a Masters in Intellectual Property in 2018. She recently obtained her Health Insurance License from the State of Ohio in 2023. Prior to joining OHB, Chelsea spent nearly 15 years working in various aspects of the medical field. She resides in Cuyahoga Falls with her husband Jimmy and their son Anthony.
Kim joined OHB in February of 2022. Kim brings with her 30 years of customer service experience and a passion for helping others. Kim resides in Akron with her husband Matt. When she is not at work, Kim can be found cooking which is her other passion.
Renee joined the OHB team in the spring of 2022. She has over 30 years of experience in the medical industry. She graduated with a dual degree in Business and Hospitality Management. She lives in Randolph with her husband Todd. Renee has a grown son and daughter and 2 beautiful grandchildren, Finnley and Jack. She enjoys spending time with her grandkids, family, friends, the great outdoors, and gardening.
Sarah joined the OHB team in September of 2022. She graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and Walsh University with an MBA in Healthcare Management. Prior to joining OHB, Sarah worked 8 years in the customer service industry. In her free time, she enjoys camping with her family and going to baseball games with her significant other, Corey. She resides in Cuyahoga Falls.
ENROLLMENT TEAM
Suzanne joined the OHB Team in October 2019. She recently obtained her Health Insurance License from the State of Ohio in 2022. Prior to coming to OHB, she spent 12 years in Education as an elementary teacher in California, followed by 15 years as a Medical Transcription Supervisor. She resides in Tallmadge with her husband, Orlando, and her kids, Alexa, Kaiah and Niko. In her free time, she loves relaxing with her family and spending as much time as she can with her two, sweet granddaughters, Lana and Mila.
Brooke joined the OHB Enrollment Team in September of 2018. She graduated from Kent State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 2001 she completed her Masters of Arts degree at the University of Akron. Prior to joining OHB, Brooke stayed at home raising her children. She and her husband Nate live in Tallmadge with their three children Ethan, Kiersten and Josie.
GROUP TEAM
Valerie joined the OHB team in December of 2018. She obtained her Life and Health Insurance License from the State of Ohio in 2006. Prior to starting with OHB Valerie worked in the Insurance Industry and has over 15 years of experience in sales and customer service. Valerie is an administrator in our Group Benefits division helps with enrollments, terminations, claim issues as well as HRA Administration. Valerie and her husband, Rob, live in Tallmadge and they have 2 sons.
Perry has been an Employee Benefit Advisor since 1996. He joined the OHB team in July of 2022 as the Lead Advisor for Key Accounts. Perry has a Finance degree from Kent State University and also holds a Registered Health Underwriter designation. Perry is a lifelong resident of Lake Township and enjoys spending time with his family and giving back to his community.
Alex joined the OHB team as an intern in August 2022. He works in the group benefits division and is currently working toward getting his insurance license. He is a student at Kent State working to obtain a bachelor’s degree in business management. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing basketball, and fishing.
Ann became licensed in Health and Life Insurance in 2004 where she was the first employee at OHB when the doors opened, assisting with customer service and sales. Ann rejoined the OHB team in September of 2021 bringing 15 additional years of experience with a focus on building client relationship and managing commercial accounts working for a local carrier. Ann graduated from Kent State University in 1987 with her Bachelor’s in Gerontology and soon after became licensed in Social Work. Ann was born and raised in Tallmadge and enjoyed raising her family (Taylor and Madeline) in Tallmadge with her husband Doug.
Christine joined the OHB team in September of 2014. She graduated from The University of Akron in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Prior to joining OHB, Christine worked for 10 years as a Licensed Pharmacy Technician for The Cleveland Clinic and then was blessed with the opportunity of being a stay-at-home mom. Christine is the HRA administrator in our Group Benefits division. She resides in Tallmadge with her husband, Tony, and their daughter, Abby.
Kevin joined the OHB team in April of 2022. He graduated from John Carroll University with a degree in Accounting. He recently obtained his Health Insurance License from the State of Ohio in 2022. Prior to joining OHB, Kevin worked in the accounting industry for 5 years. He resides in Cuyahoga Falls.
Lynn, a Kent State Ashtabula graduate, worked in various capacities prior to getting her Insurance License in 2009, working right next door to where OHB is currently located! OHB was fortunate to have her join us in August 2014 where she works as part of the Group Benefits Team. Lynn has two grown children, Scott and Jennifer. Lynn recently moved to North Royalton – just 10 minutes away from her 5 Grands, who are the joy of her life!
Prior to joining Ohio Health Benefits, Matthew and his wife owned and operated a local UPS Store franchise, and he also previously served as the Director for two Northeast Ohio law firms. In his spare time, he is a substitute school bus driver for Tallmadge & Nordonia Hills City schools. Matthew is a graduate of Capital University and Archbishop Hoban High School. He and his wife, Amy, live in Tallmadge and have a blended family with seven children. Matthew enjoys supporting his children’s activities and serves his church as an altar server and extraordinary minister of Holy Communion.
ACCOUNTING
Jordan joined the OHB team in February 2021. He is a graduate of the University of Akron with a major in Accounting. Prior to joining OHB, Jordan worked as an accountant in the healthcare industry for over a year. Jordan currently resides in Tallmadge. In his free time, he coaches Youth and High School Basketball.
