After years of financial struggles, trucking company Yellow Corp. has shut down operations and is headed for a bankruptcy filing. Teamster members affected by the closing will now need to determine what is their best option for healthcare coverage beginning August 5th, 2023. A self payment Cobra option will be offered to affected members, but there are other choices.
Some of the options offered are continuing TEAMCARE coverage, enrolling into a short-term plan or enrolling into one of the HealthCare.gov marketplace plans with or without federal subsidies.
Ohio Health Benefits can help determine which path makes the most sense for your needs at no charge to you. We are a local independent agency that has been servicing Teamster retirees in Ohio since 2006. Check out our many glowing testimonials and 5-star reviews from clients we have served already by clicking here.
As a local agency we can meet with you face to face in our offices or your home individually to:
- Review all your options including the TEAMCARE option.
- Enroll you into a short-term plan if that makes the most sense.
- Enroll you into one of the many Healthcare.gov Marketplace plans.
- Maximize your monthly federal subsidy to minimize your monthly premium.
- Get you started with Medicare if that is an available option for you.
- Evaluate all the plans available from the many different insurance companies and make recommendations and get you enrolled.
Remember, there is no charge to have us help you figure it all out. We can save you the hassle of dealing directly with HealthCare.gov or the many insurance companies and handle that for you.
Please stop by our office in Tallmadge or call us toll free at 330-633-3837. We will schedule a meeting to gather important information about your healthcare needs and review options at your convenience.
